SPIRIT FILLED GIRL TALK | Sisterhood, Iron Sharpens Iron, Following Jesus, Identity in Christ, Surrender

Honest girl talk on surrender, sisterhood, contentment, identity in Christ, walking in obedience, abiding in Christ, trusting God more deeply, and being discipled by friendship.

Does your walk with Jesus look more like striving than surrender? Are you exhausted from trying to figure everything out on your own — and ready to finally trust God more fully? Do you long to abide in Christ… to grow in contentment… to walk in obedience with confidence as you're following Jesus? And have you been quietly praying for real, Spirit-filled friendships to walk it out with?

If so — you’re not alone.

Welcome to Spirit Filled Girl Talk — the podcast for women who are done with surface-level faith and friendship, and are hungry for deeper intimacy with God and authentic Christian sisterhood that calls you up (not out). Together, we explore what it looks like to live Christ-centered instead of culturally-driven — and we want to invite you into the kind of sisterhood God uses to disciple you and strengthen your faith.

We are Sarah Phillipe and Satin Pelfrey — best friends turned co-hosts, brought together by the Holy Spirit and refined through wilderness seasons where we experienced God's faithfulness.

Like many women, we once believed we needed to strive, perform, and get everything “right” in order to maintain our salvation and be used by God. We believed productivity equaled purpose and that busyness was obedience — until God gently showed us the beauty of surrender. A life not rooted in performance, but in living from His love rather than for His love. He showed us that He redeems it all — that nothing is wasted. That even our suffering is used for our sanctification and His glory. That true contentment is found in abiding in Christ. And that lasting joy flows from the truth that we are fully known and deeply loved by God.

As our friendship grew, we experienced the power of true Spirit-filled friendship. The kind where iron sharpens iron — where women point one another back to Jesus, pray together, encourage one another, and remind each other of their identity in Christ. Now we’re inviting you into those same conversations.

If you’ve been longing for girl talk that is both honest and Spirit-led — you’ve found your people. We're here to help you live wholly, walk boldly, and cultivate life-giving Sisterhood with Jesus at the center of it all.

So pour your coffee, open your heart, and pull up a seat. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll walk away filled — not just inspired — with truth that transforms.

Because this isn’t small talk.
It’s Spirit Filled Girl Talk.

Have you believed a lie about your body? As Christian women, we often wrestle with body image, comparison, shame, and the pressure to "fix" ourselves — physically, emotionally, or spiritually. But what if the real issue isn't your body, but the story you've accepted about it? In this episode of Spirit Filled Girl Talk, we explore Psalm 139:13–16 from Glenna Marshall's book Known and Loved, to unpack what it truly means to be fearfully and wonderfully made, how surrender over striving applies to body acceptance, and how being fully known and loved by God rewrites the narrative you believe about yourself. Discover biblical truth about how our identity in Christ reshapes the way we view our bodies, our worth, and our purpose — and find daily contentment in your own skin through abiding in Christ.
Together, we unpack:
Why body image struggles are often rooted in identity, not appearance
How to recognize and reject the “unreliable narrator” shaping your beliefs
The difference between honoring your body and idolizing it
How surrender to God brings freedom from striving and perfectionism
Why your body is not the problem — and what God is doing beneath the surface
How your longing for more points to eternity
This conversation is a powerful reminder that:
Your body is not your enemy. Your worth is not up for negotiation. And your identity was never meant to be defined by culture — but by Christ.
You are not broken. You are being formed.
And your story is still being written in God's faithfulness.
If you’re longing for Christian sisterhood, deeper faith, and real conversations that lead to transformation, this episode will meet you right where you are. This isn't small talk. It's Spirit Filled Girl Talk.

When shame whispers lies, we hide — from God, others, and ourselves. But what if surrender means letting Him find you there? In this Spirit Filled Girl Talk episode, we explore Psalm 139 through "Known and Loved" to discover how intimacy with Jesus grows when we stop running from shame and start resting in His complete acceptance. Join us as we uncover the safety of being fully known — even in the dark.
We explore how shame disconnects us from both God's presence and meaningful sisterhood, and why finding safety in God's unconditional love is the first step to abiding in Christ and living in contentment. We talk about what it means to be known in the dark, how God’s hand still leads and holds us in suffering, and why even the darkest season cannot separate us from His love, mercy, and compassion.
If you're exhausted from hiding, this conversation is for you. The powerful truth is you cannot outrun the presence of God — and you do not have to. This is your reminder that God’s presence is not a threat — it is your safety.

Feel trapped in the exhaustion of striving to constantly improve, perform, and prove your worth? In this vulnerable Girl Talk episode, we dismantle the lie "you're not enough" and reveal why surrender is the radical Gospel antidote to performance culture. Discover how understanding your identity in Christ isn't about becoming better; it's about finally resting in who God says you already are. Sarah shares how not fully understanding her identity in Christ led her to strive for value and approval, while Satin opens up about how God has been teaching her contentment — as a settled trust in Him even when life feels unfinished, messy, or painful.
If you’ve ever wrestled with worthiness, felt pressure to maintain your salvation, or struggled to believe that Jesus is truly enough, this episode will speak straight to your heart.
In this episode, you’ll hear about:
Why striving is so normalized in our culture and even in the Church, which fuels dissatisfaction
The difference between religion and relationship, and how abiding in Christ is the opposite of performance-based faith
Why self-confidence and saving faith cannot coexist
How the Gospel is an exchange of striving for rest
Why contentment grows in the process of surrender, not in the outcome
How identity in Christ anchors us in suffering, sanctification, and spiritual growth
What it looks like to stop performing for God and start depending on Him
This episode is an invitation to surrender... to abide... to walk in obedience... to stop living for God’s love and approval and start living from it.
If you’re longing for Christian sisterhood, deeper faith, and a more peaceful walk with God, this spirit-filled conversation will remind you of what is true: apart from Christ, we are not enough — but in Him, we are fully loved, fully accepted, and being made new.

Feeling spiritually weary and alone in your faith? In this sisterhood episode of Spirit Filled Girl Talk, we explore covenant friendship through the lens of 1 Samuel 23—what it truly means to "strengthen someone's hand in God" and why Christian sisterhood is essential for surrendering fear, deepening your walk with God, and sustaining faith, and remembering your identity in Christ in the wilderness seasons of life. Discover how intentional Christ-centered friendships become your lifeline to walk in obedience. We talk honestly about what Spirit-filled friendship is and what it is not. This kind of sisterhood does not replace God or create dependence on one another. Instead, it points hearts back to Jesus, encourages surrendered obedience, and strengthens faith in the middle of hard seasons.
If you’re a Christian woman longing for deeper connection, real discipleship, and friendships that walk with you in purpose, this episode will encourage you. Whether you feel like David, weary and hiding in the wilderness, or you sense God calling you to be like Jonathan, showing up for another woman with truth and love, this conversation will help you discern how to walk faithfully. This episode is for women who are hungry for more of God, committed to living surrendered, and ready to cultivate Spirit-filled sisterhood rooted in biblical truth, encouragement, and trust in the Lord.
