SPIRIT FILLED GIRL TALK | Sisterhood, Iron Sharpens Iron, Following Jesus, Identity in Christ, Surrender

Honest girl talk on surrender, sisterhood, contentment, identity in Christ, walking in obedience, abiding in Christ, trusting God more deeply, and being discipled by friendship.

Does your walk with Jesus look more like striving than surrender? Are you exhausted from trying to figure everything out on your own — and ready to finally trust God more fully? Do you long to abide in Christ… to grow in contentment… to walk in obedience with confidence as you're following Jesus? And have you been quietly praying for real, Spirit-filled friendships to walk it out with?

If so — you’re not alone.

Welcome to Spirit Filled Girl Talk — the podcast for women who are done with surface-level faith and friendship, and are hungry for deeper intimacy with God and authentic Christian sisterhood that calls you up (not out). Together, we explore what it looks like to live Christ-centered instead of culturally-driven — and we want to invite you into the kind of sisterhood God uses to disciple you and strengthen your faith.

We are Sarah Phillipe and Satin Pelfrey — best friends turned co-hosts, brought together by the Holy Spirit and refined through wilderness seasons where we experienced God's faithfulness.

Like many women, we once believed we needed to strive, perform, and get everything “right” in order to maintain our salvation and be used by God. We believed productivity equaled purpose and that busyness was obedience — until God gently showed us the beauty of surrender. A life not rooted in performance, but in living from His love rather than for His love. He showed us that He redeems it all — that nothing is wasted. That even our suffering is used for our sanctification and His glory. That true contentment is found in abiding in Christ. And that lasting joy flows from the truth that we are fully known and deeply loved by God.

As our friendship grew, we experienced the power of true Spirit-filled friendship. The kind where iron sharpens iron — where women point one another back to Jesus, pray together, encourage one another, and remind each other of their identity in Christ. Now we’re inviting you into those same conversations.

If you’ve been longing for girl talk that is both honest and Spirit-led — you’ve found your people. We're here to help you live wholly, walk boldly, and cultivate life-giving Sisterhood with Jesus at the center of it all.

So pour your coffee, open your heart, and pull up a seat. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll walk away filled — not just inspired — with truth that transforms.

Because this isn’t small talk.
It’s Spirit Filled Girl Talk.

Christian sisterhood isn’t just about connection—it’s about building friendships that point you back to Jesus. Some friendships are enjoyable… but others are deeply God-breathed. In this honest girl talk episode, we explore what it looks like when a friendship grows into true kingdom sisterhood—relationships that don’t just survive conflict, but actually deepen through it.
We unpack the marks of a spiritually healthy friendship, including honesty without fear, humility on both sides, and the ability to navigate hard conversations with grace and clarity. We also talk about why mutual honor creates safety, how curiosity can prevent unnecessary conflict, and what it means to build meaningful friendships while following Jesus together.
This episode highlights the difference between surface-level connection and Christ-centered friendship—where you pray together, speak truth in love, and grow in faith side by side.
If you’ve been longing for deeper, more meaningful relationships rooted in truth, trust, and the Holy Spirit, this conversation will give you a clear picture of what’s possible—and how to begin cultivating it.

What if the thing that transforms us most isn't punishment—but mercy?  Many of us intellectually understand that God is merciful, but what happens when that truth moves from our heads to our hearts? When we move from understanding God as judge to knowing Him as mercy, everything shifts—including how we love our sisters. In this episode of Spirit Filled Girl Talk, we explore what it means to abide in Christ's compassion, trade performance for presence, and extend the same radical grace God extends to us. If your faith has felt heavy with perfectionism or judgment toward others, this honest girl talk will help you experience redemption in how you see yourself and your sisters in Christ.
We'll talk about:
Why many of us struggle to fully receive God's mercyHow our view of earthly authority can shape our view of GodThe difference between fear-based obedience and love-driven obedienceWhy God's kindness transforms us more deeply than condemnationHow mercy changes the way we extend grace to othersWhat it means to become more like Christ through abiding in Him
If you've ever wrestled with shame, perfectionism, judgment, or feeling like you need to earn God's approval, this conversation will remind you of the tender, compassionate heart of the Father.

Discernment in Christian Sisterhood matters—especially when friendships start to feel confusing.
Not all friendships sharpen your faith. So how do you know which relationships are life-giving—and which ones are quietly draining your peace? In this honest girl talk episode, we share a simple three-question discernment filter to help you navigate friendships with wisdom, clarity, and the Holy Spirit leading the way.
We unpack how to recognize the fruit of the Spirit in a relationship, why teachability is a key marker of spiritual maturity, and how to discern whether a friendship brings freedom or pressure. We also talk about the importance of healthy relational boundaries and why not everyone is meant to have the same level of access to your heart.
This isn’t about judging or labeling people—it’s about growing in discernment, guarding your peace, and building Christ-centered friendships that reflect truth, humility, and love.
If you’ve ever wondered, “Is this discernment… or am I just being judgmental?”—this episode will give you a simple, prayerful grid to come back to as you walk in faith, sisterhood, and obedience.

Contentment that heals begins when you stop trying to control everything, surrender fear, and start learning to trust God.
What if the exhaustion you feel isn’t from doing too much… but from trying to protect yourself in ways God never asked you to? In this honest girl talk, we unpack how self-protection can quietly shape our relationships, create tension, and block the peace of God we’re actually longing for.
We share personal stories of how fear, past wounds, and control patterns showed up in marriage, leadership, and daily life—and how God began gently revealing the deeper root: a lack of trust.
This episode explores the difference between self-protection and surrender, why control often feels like wisdom, and how true contentment grows when we release our grip and trust God’s leadership instead.
You’ll hear how abiding in Christ, walking in humility, and choosing daily surrender leads to emotional healing, deeper intimacy with Jesus, and lasting peace.
If you’ve been striving, over-controlling, or feeling exhausted from holding everything together, this is your invitation to let go—and trust God in a deeper way.

Christian sisterhood, discernment, and surrender—why does the same friendship conflict keep repeating?
Do you find yourself in the same friendship drama… just with different people? In this honest girl talk conversation, we gently explore the relational patterns that can create repeated conflict—especially defensiveness, a victim posture, and unhealed wounds that quietly shape how we show up in relationships.
This episode isn’t about labeling people or judging hearts. It’s about growing in discernment, taking ownership, and allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal what’s really going on beneath the surface.
We talk about what it looks like when conflict follows someone from relationship to relationship, why teachability and humility matter so much, and how unforgiveness and past wounds can keep us stuck in cycles we don’t even realize we’re repeating.
Most importantly, we share how to respond with both grace and wisdom—setting healthy boundaries, guarding your peace, and walking in Christ-centered sisterhood.
If you’ve been asking God for clarity in your friendships, this episode will help you grow in faith, surrender, and emotional maturity—so you can build relationships rooted in truth, healing, and the peace of God.

We unpack the tension between knowledge and wisdom, and why not every revelation is an assignment. If you’ve ever struggled with tone, correction, or navigating hard conversations in Christian sisterhood, this episode will meet you right where you are.
Inside this conversation:• Why truth requires relationship and responsibility• How to discern when to speak vs stay silent• How an unsurrendered tongue creates division• Why tone, timing, and heart posture matter
