SPIRIT FILLED GIRL TALK | Sisterhood, Iron Sharpens Iron, Following Jesus, Identity in Christ, Surrender
Honest girl talk on surrender, sisterhood, contentment, identity in Christ, walking in obedience, abiding in Christ, trusting God more deeply, and being discipled by friendship.
Does your walk with Jesus look more like striving than surrender? Are you exhausted from trying to figure everything out on your own — and ready to finally trust God more fully? Do you long to abide in Christ… to grow in contentment… to walk in obedience with confidence as you're following Jesus? And have you been quietly praying for real, Spirit-filled friendships to walk it out with?
If so — you’re not alone.
Welcome to Spirit Filled Girl Talk — the podcast for women who are done with surface-level faith and friendship, and are hungry for deeper intimacy with God and authentic Christian sisterhood that calls you up (not out). Together, we explore what it looks like to live Christ-centered instead of culturally-driven — and we want to invite you into the kind of sisterhood God uses to disciple you and strengthen your faith.
We are Sarah Phillipe and Satin Pelfrey — best friends turned co-hosts, brought together by the Holy Spirit and refined through wilderness seasons where we experienced God's faithfulness.
Like many women, we once believed we needed to strive, perform, and get everything “right” in order to maintain our salvation and be used by God. We believed productivity equaled purpose and that busyness was obedience — until God gently showed us the beauty of surrender. A life not rooted in performance, but in living from His love rather than for His love. He showed us that He redeems it all — that nothing is wasted. That even our suffering is used for our sanctification and His glory. That true contentment is found in abiding in Christ. And that lasting joy flows from the truth that we are fully known and deeply loved by God.
As our friendship grew, we experienced the power of true Spirit-filled friendship. The kind where iron sharpens iron — where women point one another back to Jesus, pray together, encourage one another, and remind each other of their identity in Christ. Now we’re inviting you into those same conversations.
If you’ve been longing for girl talk that is both honest and Spirit-led — you’ve found your people. We're here to help you live wholly, walk boldly, and cultivate life-giving Sisterhood with Jesus at the center of it all.
So pour your coffee, open your heart, and pull up a seat. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll walk away filled — not just inspired — with truth that transforms.
Because this isn’t small talk.

Are your words reflecting a surrendered heart? In this episode, we explore how emotional safety, respect, and affection in marriage flow from surrendering control to God. When stress and old habits drive your tone, honest girl talk about communication becomes a journey of discipleship — learning to speak with intention, listen with grace, and build a marriage marked by deeper connection in Christ.
If you ever walked away from a conversation with your husband thinking, "Why did I say it like that?"... Or felt that tension in the air when your tone didn’t match your heart... Or you long for deeper connection — but stress, old habits, and unspoken expectations keep getting in the way — this episode is for you.
In today’s Spirit Filled Girl Talk conversation, we’re continuing our Purposeful Wife series inspired by the 28-Day Purposeful Wife Challenge, and we’re getting into the heart-level details that can transform the atmosphere of your home: the power of your words, the posture of respect, the role of affection, and the emotional warmth you carry.
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about discipleship in marriage — letting the Holy Spirit shape your heart, your tone, and your responses so your marriage reflects Jesus with tenderness, truth, and peace.
If you’ve been feeling convicted, tender, or simply hungry for a healthier rhythm in your marriage, let this be your reminder: small Spirit-led shifts carry profound power. Your words matter. Your tenderness matters. And God is not inviting you into striving — He’s inviting you into deeper love, deeper peace, and deeper surrender.

Your Body Is His Temple Series: Holistic Health from a Biblical Perspective (Body, Soul, & Spirit)
Have you ever wondered how your physical health connects to your spiritual life — or felt conflicted about caring for your body even though you love Jesus and want to honor Him? If you’re a Christian woman who feels tired, overwhelmed, or unsure how faith and health fit together, this conversation is for you.
In this episode of Spirit Filled Girl Talk, we’re introducing a brand-new monthly teaching series called Your Body Is His Temple — a Christ-centered exploration of holistic health through a biblical lens. This first episode focuses on the body, and what it truly means that your physical body is the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit — not as a metaphor, but as a spiritual reality that transforms how you live, rest, eat, move, and heal.
Together, we unpack what Scripture teaches about stewardship, worship, and discipleship as it relates to your physical body. We talk about why caring for your health is not about striving, perfection, or control — but about surrender to God, obedience, and honoring what He has entrusted to you. When you begin to see your body through biblical truth instead of culture or the wellness industry, everything shifts.
In this episode, we discuss:
What the Bible really means when it says your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit
Why stewarding your health is an act of worship, not works
How Christ-centered living includes how you care for your physical body
The role of rest, nourishment, movement, boundaries, and discernment
Why symptoms are communication, not inconvenience
How to honor your body without making health an idol
The difference between stewardship and striving in your healing journey
This conversation is an invitation to move from burnout to peace, from confusion to clarity, and from performance to Christ-centered living. It’s about learning to trust God with your body, walk in faith over fear, and grow in spiritual maturity through small, faithful, daily choices.
If you’ve been longing for alignment — body, soul, and spirit — this episode will help you reconnect your health to your identity in Christ, your God-given purpose, and your walk of discipleship.

If you’re longing to grow in faith, walk in obedience, and respond with a heart posture of grace instead of reaction, this episode will meet you right where you are. In this Spirit-led girl talk, we explore what it truly means to bleed the Word of God when we're cut — allowing Scripture, the Holy Spirit, and discernment to shape our responses when life applies pressure. We unpack how God uses seasons of crushing, waiting, and refining to produce Christ-like responses. These refining seasons are not signs of abandonment — they are evidence of God’s faithfulness. Instead of striving, self-protection, or emotional reaction, God invites us into surrender, sanctification, and deeper intimacy with Jesus.

Have you ever felt that quiet pull of comparison — that subtle longing for what someone else has — and suddenly the life God entrusted to you doesn’t feel like enough? Maybe it’s her season, her marriage, her calling, her friendships, her body, her home… and before you know it, contentment starts slipping, peace feels harder to hold onto, and your heart feels spiritually distracted. In this girl talk episode, we’re going straight to the root: coveting. Not just “wanting something,” but the deeper heart posture that imagines a better life outside of God’s will — and quietly steals your joy, peace, and confidence to trust God more deeply. Together, we unpack how unsurrendered desire can open doors to compromise, entitlement, manipulation, idolatry, and spiritual warfare — including what Scripture reveals about the spirit of Jezebel and how it targets your identity in Christ, your marriage, and your Kingdom purpose.
But we don’t stop at conviction — we move into freedom. This is what Christian sisterhood is all about — calling each other up.
In this honest girl talk, you’ll learn how contentment becomes the antidote to coveting and a powerful act of surrender to God. We talk about what it looks like to abide in Christ, practice radical gratitude, take every thought captive as you renew your mind and return to your first love — Jesus — so you can walk in obedience, guard your heart, and stay rooted in your identity in Christ with confidence and joy.

As a new year begins, many Christian women feel an unspoken pressure to do more, fix more, try harder, and finally “get it right.” But what if God isn’t asking you to strive at all? What if He’s inviting you into something deeper — abiding in Christ and learning true contentment? In this opening episode of Season 2 of Spirit Filled Girl Talk, we invite you into a Spirit-led conversation about heart posture over performance and learning how to trust God fully instead of chasing outcomes. Together, we reflect on how God shaped their hearts in the previous season — through surrender, obedience, healing, and quiet refining — and how He is now calling us (and you) into a new posture for the year ahead. Sarah shares her word for the year, abide, unpacking what Scripture teaches about remaining rooted in Christ, staying connected to the Vine, and drawing life from Him rather than from striving. Satin shares her word for the year, contentment, revealing how a settled trust in God’s timing and portion protects your peace, guards your calling, and frees you from comparison. We also introduce Season 2’s new series, “Your Body Is His Temple,” where they’ll explore honoring God with your whole life — spirit, soul, and body— through biblical stewardship rather than fear or control. They also invite listeners into their brand-new Spirit Filled Sisterhood community, a space for women to grow in faith and Christian sisterhood.

Feeling stuck in obedience? You've prayed, served, and showed up faithfully — but your breakthrough still feels distant. When God asks you to surrender something you've been gripping — a business, a relationship, an idol — sometimes the season of waiting feels unbearable. Maybe you're wondering: "did I hear God correctly?" In this honest girl talk episode, we explore the cost of true obedience, how redemption and favor flow through surrender, and why kingdom purpose isn't found in striving but in trusting God's plan more deeply than ever before.
We get personal about how saying yes to Jesus became the doorway to deeper surrender, clearer purpose, and a more Christ-centered calling. This is about moving from striving to abiding in Christ, from fear of the unknown to trusting God more deeply, and from people-pleasing to living for an audience of One.

The role of repentance, humility, and sanctification in experiencing true redemption.
How to build daily rhythms of small, faithful acts of obedience — rooted in prayer, Scripture, and intimacy with Jesus.
How God used a season of pause, loss, and laying things down to birth deeper Christian sisterhood and this very podcast.

Energy healing promises spiritual breakthrough — but does it align with biblical truth? In this honest girl talk, we expose how wellness trends infiltrating faith subtly pull Christian women away from obedience and intimacy with Jesus. Through our own journeys of deception and redemption, we share discernment tools you need to recognize counterfeit spirituality and walk boldly in God's truth.
With compassion and conviction, we walk you through our personal experiences with “Mind Body Spirit Release,” the dangers of divination disguised as healing, and how easily even sincere followers of Jesus can be led astray.
In this episode, you’ll learn:✨ How to discern between Biblical truth and New Age deception✨ Why the enemy twists biblical language to mimic light and peace✨ How to use discernment by returning to Scripture and the Holy Spirit’s guidance✨ The difference between counterfeit peace and the true peace that comes when you surrender fully to Jesus✨ How to find freedom through repentance, discipleship, and abiding in Christ
Friend, true emotional healing doesn’t come from manipulating energy — it comes from the presence of the Holy Spirit, processing your emotions at the feet of Jesus, and a heart fully surrendered to God. You don’t need energy healing; you need the Prince of Peace.
This is your invitation to turn from counterfeit Christianity, walk in faith, and stand firm alongside Christian sisterhood that points you back to Jesus. Because real freedom is found not in idols, but in walking in obedience — boldly, surrendered, and filled with His Spirit.
